New Year! New Cards!

I'm moving forward into something new and different in 2014. After asking myself, "If not now, when?" over and over, I've come to the conclusion/realization that I need to get off my duff and get something working with my art. It's time for people to see what I've been doing and hopefully liking it enough to buy some of it. I notice how well my dog and cat cards have gone over and decided to make that a centerpiece to get my name out there and into the circles where opportunities reside.

I am looking to market my cards to the smaller Mom & Pop stores locally and through Etsy on a larger scale.. (You can find me on Etsy, just look for AllTheCreatives. I've been adding items for sale over on that site. As things pick up, I will expand my shipping beyond the US.). I actually got out of bed at a decent hour today and went to church, where I ran into friends of mine from the art society that I'm a member of. After the service, we were chatting about art and I casually mentioned that I am interested in marketing my art locally to start. My friend Linda advised me to check out a local area popular with the tourists. So I went and sent in my application. None of the other vendors on their list even sell cards, which would work out great for me.

But today, I wanted to share with you some of my new designs that I've been hard at work on. Just a note, none of these are done using Adobe, Photo Shop, Paint, Illustrator or anything like that. Those programs are nice but they are out of my price range at this point and time. (Well, Paint isn't but I still prefer old school methods.) Everything I do is hand drawn. Any of the calligraphy you see is all my writing. A good portion of any quotes you see on any of my cards have come from Quote Garden, Facebook or any number of sources. The stencils were bought on Ebay last year as well as stores such as Jo-Ann's or Michael's. The pens I use are Paper Mate Flairs, Crayola Markers, Rose Art markers and a few no-name brands bought at the dollar stores in the area. The cardstock comes from Michael's, Tuesday Morning or are just donations from friends. I run on a shoe-string budget with hopes for big budget down the road.
